Our HistoryThe company was originally established in the 1960's, trading from a site based in Billericay, Essex.
At this time the company was trading as 'Thermofoam'.The company was taken over by Kay-Metzeler in the late 70’s. British Vita acquired the company in 1987, further investment meant the acquisition of Cemoss (Kay-Metzeler’s main EPS competitor) in 1993. This brought with it another modern manufacturing site in Laindon, Essex, where production continued with the Billericay plant until July 2003. We then moved production to our vast, new Chelmsford factory, improving efficiency by concentrating all manufacturing in one site. The Kay-Metzeler (EPS) division remains part of the Vita Group of companies. Manufacturing a wide range of EPS. Kay-Metzeler (EPS) has become one of the UK’s market leaders in the production of block and sheet. Our products are used extensively in construction, furniture, packaging, scenery, sculpture, horticulture and agriculture. Kay Metzeler continues to develop and maintain a transport regime using group transport as well local hauliers to ensure we can give the best service to our customers, this has recently been augmented with the introduce of “FORS” and “Crossrail” compliant vehicles and drivers.
